About us

Founder and Head Coach Darryl worked as a PT in commercial gyms, training hundreds of people over the years and helping them realise their true potential. His vision was to create a space that allowed him to offer the best personal training experience possible – totally bespoke plans, world-class equipment and a dedicated approach that guaranteed results. He put the same commitment and drive from his sessions into building a business, and Versue was born.

Meet our team

Darryl Ford

Founder & Head Coach

As founder of Versue, I’ve put my everything into this studio – and I proudly take that same approach with my clients. Whatever your fitness goals and aspirations, my team and I can help you reach them.

I found exercise in my late teens as I was always the ‘skinny’ kid, and I loved how much confidence the gym gave me. This led to me helping friends and family in the gym and eventually to me getting my Personal Training certification.

A few years of high stress, relying on takeaways and convenience food to get me through the days resulted in me gaining 20kg of unwanted weight, slashing my confidence and energy levels. I went through my own transformation and have managed to maintain it, now I primarily train for continued physique improvements and overall fitness. I tell you this because I believe it’s useful for you to know we as your trainers can relate to at least some of your struggles.

We’ll work together to create a nutrition plan that helps you hit your goals, but fits into your lifestyle.

Outside of work, I’m a big foodie and love hiking, travelling, Formula 1 and losing myself in the Marvel and Star Wars multiverse.

Grant Fullick

Senior Coach

I spent my teenage years and early 20s overweight, lacking in confidence and working a job I hated. I was lost and unhappy. When I found exercise and started eating properly, it changed my life. So if you’re in a place where you want to start, but don’t know how, I’ve been where you are.

Being a dad brings its own set of challenges – finding time to prioritise yourself can sometimes feel impossible as a parent. We can help you carve out that time and find ways to integrate fitness and wellbeing into your life in a manageable way.

When I’m not training I love spending time with my family and listening to live music. I’m always up for a good gig!

Jess Lawson

Coach

Not growing up around health, fitness, sport or nutrition I know how easy it is for unhealthy habits to creep in. I used to work as a Chef in a high stress environment, After making big lifestyle changes myself, I understand the challenges that come with staying consistent.

My coaching focuses on simple nutrition, effective training, and building routines you can actually stick to , so results feel realistic and sustainable.

When I’m not coaching, I enjoy reading, travelling, and cooking for friends.
